As I’ve grown more and more into my sense of style I’ve noticed my eye gravitate towards pieces that have some sort of fun texture element to them. The items may still be a classic or basic item but it needs to have a little something something to it.
For instance. I don’t just want a boyfriend cardigan, I want a boyfriend cardigan with some fun pops of color to it. I don’t just want a long sleeve black top, I want a sheer black long sleeve top. I don’t just want black leather shorts, I want croc embossed black leather shorts. And I don’t just want to sit on a green chair, I want to sit on a green velvet chair.
My point: don’t be afraid to mix textures. Whether it’s with your clothes or with your home decor. Texture on texture is a good thing.
